Payment system PayPal (Pay Pal) is a world famous electronic money platform, which was formed in 2000 by the merger of Confinity and X.com, owned by Elon Musk. In 2001, the merged company received its final name PayPal and a year later it was sold to the eBay online store, with which it is still associated.
Over the years of its successful operation in the financial market, the international payment system PayPal managed to earn the trust of more than 230 million people, open its own representative offices in 202 jurisdictions, including in Ukraine, as well as establish the operation of outgoing payments in 25 world currencies, and outgoing - in more than 100. At the same time, the special feature of the payment system is that for different countries there are different conditions of use and tariffs. PayPal is headquartered in San Jose, California.
Since 2017, PayPal has also become an online lending provider and has been able to provide long-term loans to its merchants through its acquisition of Swift Financial.
